Doing Research in Indigenous Communities Conference

Join us for the seventh annual Doing Research in Indigenous Communities Conference on Oct. 23 and 24, 2023, at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus. Hosted by the Office of American Indian Initiatives and the College of Health Solutions and funded by the Arizona Biomedical Research Centre, this conference offers an opportunity to understand and address the research needs of tribal nations and communities.

This no-cost conference will include plenary panels and breakout sessions structured to encourage learning and discussion. Day one will focus on timely policy issues impacting Indian Country. Day two will focus on supporting and developing the next generation of researchers by cultivating Indigenous students’ research knowledge, skills and scholarly journey.

Students, researchers or community members interested in research issues and opportunities within Indigenous communities are encouraged to attend.

 

Day 1
Monday, Oct. 23, 2023
8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. MST (Arizona time)
In-person at the ASU Memorial Union in Tempe or virtual sessions for morning plenary panels and keynote only.

Day 2
Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023
8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. MST (Arizona time)
In-person at the Labriola National American Indian Data Center (Hayden Library) in Tempe or virtual sessions for plenary panels and limited break-out session capabilities.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Networking reception to follow on both days.
