The PBC is Proud to Join the Arizona Venture Alliance!

The Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC) is thrilled to announce our role in the newly launched Arizona Venture Alliance (AVA) — a dynamic coalition of over two dozen investors, founders, economic development organizations, and nonprofit leaders committed to transforming Arizona’s startup ecosystem.

“Over many years and with the support of countless individuals, Arizona’s startup ecosystem has grown exponentially. Today represents the critical next step in our work to support startups and small business owners,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority.

The AVA’s mission is clear: to accelerate Arizona’s position as a premier destination for startups and investors. Through this strategic partnership, the AVA will focus on three ambitious goals over the next three years:

• Support the rise of five unicorns — Arizona startups valued at $1 billion or more.

• Attract and relocate over 50 startups to Arizona — building on the state’s reputation as a fertile ground for innovation.
• Catalyze at least $500 million in private investment — driving essential capital to Arizona’s most promising startups.

These goals are not just aspirational — they are essential steps in fostering a robust, sustainable startup landscape that creates jobs, advances technological innovation, and cements Arizona’s role as a national leader in entrepreneurship.

As a key partner in this effort, the Phoenix Bioscience Core is uniquely positioned to help drive these initiatives forward. Our commitment to supporting health, bioscience, and life science startups makes PBC a vital player in this collaborative effort to fuel growth and innovation in the region.

“We’re proud to join the Arizona Venture Alliance (AVA), a robust statewide coalition working to promote Arizona’s startup and investor ecosystem, and the Phoenix Bioscience Core is augmenting translational science happening within our ecosystem,” said Scarlett Spring, Executive Director, Phoenix Bioscience Core and AVA Founding Member.

This partnership amplifies the resources and opportunities available to startups at PBC. It’s a chance to connect with venture capital, mentorship, and a thriving community of founders and innovators committed to bold, disruptive ideas.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and invite our community of partners, founders, and investors to get involved. The Arizona Venture Alliance is more than a coalition — it’s a movement to shape Arizona’s future as a global hub for startup success.

Stay connected with the Phoenix Bioscience Core as we continue to support AVA’s mission, champion Arizona’s innovators, and unlock new growth opportunities for the entire startup ecosystem.
