Phoenix, AZ – March 14, 2025 – Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC) is proud to announce the first cohort of XLR8 PBC, a program designed to support scale-ready health tech startups with access to top industry leaders, mentorship, and strategic resources. The selected companies represent cutting-edge advancements in medical technology, addressing critical gaps in patient care, joint health, chronic pain treatment, and remote monitoring.

Meet the Spring 2025 XLR8 PBC Cohort:

Kinisi Inc. (CA)
Kinisi Inc. is revolutionizing joint health with Kinisi Motion™, a deep-tech platform leveraging AI, biomechanics, and orthopedic expertise to predict, prevent, and manage knee injuries. Their flagship product, Kinisi Knee™, accurately forecasts ACL instability, helping to reduce injuries and long-term arthritis.

NXgenPort (MN)
NXgenPort has developed an implanted “Smart Port” for Care-at-Home monitoring, designed to alert physicians of early signs of infection. This breakthrough technology enhances patient outcomes while reducing hospitalizations.

TendoNova (GA)
TendoNova markets an FDA-cleared microinvasive device for treating orthopedic issues like tendinopathy. Their technology bridges a major treatment gap between physical therapy and surgery for chronic pain.

The Patient Company (AZ)
The Patient Company is transforming patient movement with SimPull, an innovative platform that automates patient transfers, significantly reducing injury risks for both healthcare staff and patients. SimPull has proven to be cost- and time-effective, helping hospitals enhance safety and efficiency.

“If you look at the expertise we have around, it’s incredible. It speaks to the desire to see a stronger health-tech, bioscience ecosystem,” said Brian Ellerman, Executive Director of XLR8 PBC, “and this is the place to do it.”

The XLR8 PBC program offers startups tailored support, networking opportunities, and collaboration within Arizona’s thriving bioscience ecosystem. The inaugural cohort will participate in specialized workshops, investor meetings, and showcase events throughout the program.
