Water Talks – Sex Differences in Heat and Hydration of Active Adults

The autonomic nervous system plays a crucial role in the physiological regulation of both body temperature and blood pressure. Often, the control mechanisms for these two processes are linked or overlap, in either adaptive or maladaptive ways. Nisha Charkoudian will give an overview of these mechanisms, followed by an update of recent research in these areas from her lab and others. Attendees can also earn one continuing education unit for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) via the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), and the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) via the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
