Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market launches Good Food Fridays on the Phoenix Bioscience Core

The Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market is bringing a new, weekly food truck program to the Phoenix Bioscience Core starting August 19. Introducing: Good Food Fridays.

Good Food Fridays will be a weekly food service program featuring local vendors each Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the southwest corner of 7th Street and Fillmore in the University of Arizona parking lot . A rotating group of local food vendors and food trucks will line up ready to serve delicious meals for the downtown Phoenix community. Grab a quick bite to go or enjoy the beautiful Phoenix sunshine at one of the pop up tables available to sit at while you’re eating.

“We’re excited to bring back a weekly food truck program for the downtown Phoenix community and even more excited that we can have it located on the Phoenix Bioscience Core,” said David Krietor, executive director of the PBC. “Come outside and grab a bite with your colleagues or classmates or share a table with someone new. This will be a great way to bring the PBC community together.”

The location of Good Food Friday is right next to the University of Arizona’s Biomedical Partnership Building in the parking lot. The parking lot is located right next door to the TGen Building, across the street from Dignity Health Cancer Institute and a short walk away from ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus. Visitors can park in the Biomedical Parking Garage or on one of the public streets nearby. We also encourage our guests to walk, ride or pedal.

The first Good Food Friday will be on August 19th. And, if you’re around on the weekend, be sure to come by the Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market every Saturday on the north side of Fillmore.

Minimizing our waste

The Phoenix Bioscience Core and Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market are eager to welcome everyone to the Good Food Friday each week. Our only ask is that you help reduce our unnecessary waste and utilize the benefits of composting and recycling to keep our community clean. You can do this by:

  • Bringing your own reusable utensils
  • Using our biodegradable utensils, cups or containers
  • Understanding the difference between compost, recyclables and trash.

We will have a team on site to help answer your questions and provide more ways to reduce our footprint.
