Fighting Pancreatic Cancer with 3rd Annual Community Walk

November 14 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Fighting Pancreatic Cancer with 3rd Annual Community Walk at ASU’s Mountain America Stadium

Seena Magowitz Foundation and HonorHealth Research Institute host Steppin’ Up Against Pancreatic Cancer Walk

The Seena Magowitz Foundation alongside the HonorHealth Research Institute will host its Third Annual Steppin’ Up Against Pancreatic Cancer Walk on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at Mountain America Stadium, home of the Arizona State Sun Devils. This powerful community event unites patients, families, survivors, advocates, and supporters in the fight to transform pancreatic cancer into a treatable, chronic disease.

Building on the momentum of past years, participants will once again come together to raise awareness, funding and hope for those facing one of the world’s toughest cancers. The day features two walk options: a family-friendly 100-meter route, and a 5K course in and around the stadium. Every step will be tracked and collectively counted, symbolizing the shared strides toward research progress and brighter futures.

The Seena Magowitz Foundation is honored to recognize Babbo Italian Eatery as the title sponsor of this year’s event, as well as major sponsors Revolution Medicines and D-Backs Give Back, whose generosity helps make the walk and its patient-focused programming possible.

The event will include expanded on-site Patient Resource Zone. Before and after the walk, attendees can connect directly with experts and support resources. Stations will provide guidance from Medicare specialists, HonorHealth’s supportive care team, and representatives from the Seena Magowitz Foundation (SMF) who can discuss the Second Opinions Program, SMF-hosted patient and caregiver support groups, and Care Kitchen, their newest initiative. The resource zone is also expected to highlight information on neuropathy, genetic testing, diabetes, nutrition, patient support programs and social services. This expanded offering underscores SMF’s patient-centric mission and the walk’s commitment to delivering not only hope for the future, but also practical tools and meaningful connections for those navigating a pancreatic cancer diagnosis — whether personally or within their family.

“Every step we take together sends a powerful message to those facing pancreatic cancer: you are not alone,” said Roger E. Magowitz, Founder and CEO of the Seena Magowitz Foundation. “Together, we are stepping up for patients, honoring those we’ve lost, and fueling the much-needed patient programs and services.”

The Impact of the Event

The funds raised from this walk will directly support pancreatic cancer patient programs and resources. For updates, follow the Seena Magowitz Foundation on social media, @SeenaMagowitzFoundation or visit Seenamagowitzfoundation.org/events.

Erkut Borazanci, M.D., Medical Director of Oncology at HonorHealth Research Institute, shares:  “This year, more than 51,000 Americans are expected to lose their lives to pancreatic cancer, which remains the nation’s third deadliest cancer after lung and colorectal. Yet we are making meaningful progress—more patients are living longer, pursuing fuller lives, and gaining precious time with family and friends.”

“The Seena Magowitz Foundation continues to be a vital partner in this fight, driving advocacy and fueling innovative research. Funds raised through this year’s walk at Arizona State University will immediately support new clinical trials at HonorHealth Research Institute, where we are conducting ongoing studies to explore new ways to attack this disease. These efforts are bringing hope and tangible answers to patients and their loved ones,” Dr. Borazanci added.
