Fashion and Philanthropy Unite to Advance Women’s Cancer Research at Runway for Research 2026

Annual Scottsdale event benefiting TGen returns October 9 with an inspiring morning dedicated to accelerating discoveries for women facing cancer

PHOENIX – May 27, 2026 – The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), part of City of Hope, together with Neiman Marcus and Scottsdale Fashion Square, will host the sixth annual Runway for Research on Friday, October 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Scottsdale Fashion Square’s Luxury Wing.

Uniting Arizona’s philanthropic, fashion and business communities, Runway for Research is an inspiring morning dedicated to accelerating the future of women’s cancer research. Powered by philanthropy, innovation, and community partnership, this signature event supports research that can save lives.

“Philanthropy plays a critical role in helping research move faster,” said Meghan Frost, Vice President of Philanthropy, Arizona Market. “When our community invests in women’s cancer research, we give scientists the resources they need to explore new ideas, test promising approaches, and move discoveries from the lab to the people who need them most.”

Inspired by the spirit, strength and momentum of the Year of the Horse, this year’s event celebrates the determination to move research forward faster for women facing cancer. Guests are encouraged to wear shades of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as they gather to support groundbreaking discoveries in precision medicine, early detection, and more personalized cancer treatments.

The event will feature an exclusive runway fashion show, luxury shopping experiences, and opportunities to support transformative cancer research that has the potential to improve outcomes for women everywhere.

This year’s event is co-chaired by community advocates Lee Courtney and Justine Hurry, whose leadership and dedication continue to help expand awareness and support for women’s cancer research in Arizona.

“So many of us have been impacted by cancer in some way, which is why this event feels incredibly meaningful,” said Lee Courtney. “By supporting innovative cancer research, we’re helping ensure that women in Arizona have access to more personalized and effective care.”

For more than two decades, TGen has pioneered leading-edge research focused on translating scientific discoveries into more precise and effective treatments for patients facing cancer and other complex diseases. Through philanthropy and collaboration, events like Runway for Research help accelerate discoveries from the laboratory directly to patient care.

“As co‑chairs, Lee and I see first-hand how this event strengthens our community,” said Justine Hurry. “Runway for Research brings people together to discover what precision medicine can do and to champion research that directly supports women faced with a cancer diagnosis.”
