Skysong Innovations to launch office hours at 850 PBC

SkySong Innovations, Arizona State University’s exclusive intellectual property management company, will host office hours at 850 PBC in the ASU Edson E+I suite Flex Office (130H) to further develop a culture of entrepreneurship on the Phoenix Bioscience Core. 

The office hours, which will be led monthly by SkySong Innovations staff and industry experts, will be open for individuals to stop by and ask questions. They’ll be held on a monthly basis from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on the First Thursday of each month starting on September 7th, 2023. Following the office hours, Venture Café Phoenix, a weekly innovation ecosystem meet up, will take place in the lobby of 850 PBC. The office hours are free to attend.

SkySong Innovations was established in 2003. To date, it has launched 180 startups, created more than 1,100 local jobs and generated over $108 million in state revenue, according to its website.SkySong Innovations and its spinouts have attracted nearly $1 billion in total investment funding. 

In the life science and health care space, some of its most well-known Arizona-based spinouts include Calviri Inc., a preventative cancer company based on the PBC developing a vaccine for cancer in canines and humans; Sequitur, a sensor platform for point-of-care and at-home whole blood biomarker monitoring;  and Symetics, a company developing IgE-based bioinformatic assisted B-Cell programming for therapeutic cancer vaccines. SkySong Innovations is also very active in microchip-based companies, as well as other software and hardware innovations, as well. 

Office Hours for SkySong Innovations will be located in the ASU Edson Entrepreneurship and Innovation suiteon the first floor of 850 PBC. The E+I space is a collaborative work environment that is also home to theHealth Entrepreneurship Accelerator Lab (HEALab), which is ASU’s accelerator focused solely on health and health care solutions. The space is available for bioscience and health innovation students and entrepreneurs, community organizations who are interested in space in central Phoenix, and ASU students on the Downtown Phoenix campus. 

The Phoenix Bioscience Core is the center of gravity for Phoenix’s life science ecosystem. Currently home to all three of Arizona’s public research universities — ASU, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona — as well as the Translational Genomics Research Institute, Exact Sciences, a number of Arizona’s largest clinical providers, and a growing number of life science startups and companies, the PBC offers tremendous value for companies interested in collaboration and connection with the highest concentration of scientists in researchers in Phoenix.
